Happy #44 Birthday to Sean "Peaman" Padgent! He is an athletic hero and excellent race director on the Big Island. His Peaman events are a lot of fun!

This years Peaman 44th Birthday Biathlon was heald on January 30, 2007 at 8A beginning at the Kialua Pier on the Big Island. The weather was partly cloudy. About 200 athletes paticipated. This event could be done individually or on a team, with or without fins during the swim.

Two swim teams were in Kona visiting for the holidays and made for a fast swim start. The swim course is 800 meters long and follows a course that is similar to the Ironman following a curved net with white bueys out to the orange buey which is a 400 meter out and back swim course.

Even though there was no race entry fee for the event, race refreshments included 3 birthday cakes, rice krispie treats, chocolate covered raisens, tangeriens, kona coffee & bottled water. Over 25 random prizes were given out after the run including several Ironman calanders and books. If you did not have a good reason to get into shape on the Big Island, you do now. Peaman biathlon events are first class athletic events. They are so much fun. The next biathlon is next months so give it a try. Race results are published in the sports section of the West Hawaii Today newspaper.
