Christmas Biathlon 2006

Louis & Asti Tomsic enjoying refreshments after
the race.

The Christmas Biathlon was December 16, 2006. The weather was beautiful.
This is a nice relay always held the week after the Honolulu Marathon
on Saturday. The race starts at the Diamond Head side of Ala Moana
Park.
The runner does a course that is 2.5 miles around the outside of
Ala Moana Park including a loop around Magic Island haning off to
thier swimmer near the lifegaurd stand on the Diamond Head side
of the park. The swimmer wears the timing chip and runs across the
mat recording the runners time and when the swimmer is done, runs
across another mat reording the swimming time. Glass cups or bowls
are ussually given out as rewards for finishing top 3 in the age
divisions.
This years race was treat as far as refreshments after the race.
After I cheered on my swimmer which happens to be my wife, I ate
some of the most delicious chocolate chip cookies of my life. It
reminded me of teh chocolate chip cookies I used to have when I
was younger that my mom used to bake. My compliments to the fine
individual who made those cookies. I ate about 30 chocolate chip
cookies. They were so yummy. There were other Christmas cookies
avaliable but I was in heaven eating the chocolate chip cookies.
The Waikiki Swim Club sponsors the race. It is one of the best
races in the whole state of Hawaii to do. I may be impartial though
because of my total enjoyment of those cookies. I look forward to
participating in the Christmas Biathlon Relay next year.
