St Micheals Sugar Sharks 10K Race Review
2007
By Louis Tomsic
The Saint Micheals
School Sugar Sharks 10K was held on February 3, 2007.
It was a very cold morning for Oahu on the North Shore at Saint
Micheal's School.
Refreshments
including pineapple and oranges with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream candies.
the
race has been around since the 80's. It is one of the few running races
offered on the North Shore. The old course used to wind through the
sugar cane field but since 1992 the race course has taken the main road
about 600 meters past a large tree that you can see to your left on the
horizon, returns on the same road doing a small loop to your left
around the old sugar plantatiuon mill. The course is scenic and full of
country air.
This
is an old race that usually draws about 100 runners waking up early to
drive to the fathest reaches of the island on a Saturday morning. I
like the race course. the last mile can be muddy if it rains alot but
this year it was dry.
