The Surf and Turf 5K 2008 was held on March 29, 2008 promptly at 7A. The first half of the race runs half a mile down hill, then half a mile around a golf course you can see in the photos turning on to the beach for about a mile and then half mile back on the golf course turning right for half a mile uphill and back to the finish. The race was sunny and slightly windy. Refreshments this year included water and Gatoraid. Everyone was relaxing after a tough finish enjoying the beautiful view of the golf course down below at the Officers Club.

This race is memorable because it is challenging. There are only a handful of races that challenge a runners ability to navigate the obstacles and this is one of them. The race is a lot of fun. This years participation had about 75 runners for the 7th annual running of this Kaneohe Marine Core Base classic 5K run.
