The Great Aloha Run was Presidents Day, February 20, 2007. The weather was cool and cloudy to start.  The race course is from Aloha Tower in downtown Honolulu to Aloha Stadium in Aiea completing a total distance of 8.15 miles. The sun came up for the finish.

The race is the largest race in the state of Hawaii with over 20,000 participants. many military units run in formation during the whole course. The race course is mainly flat with a small hill after mile 6 going up and then back down to mile 7. The last half mile is run around Aloha Stadium before entering the center of the stadium and sprinting to the finish. The race is an officially timed event where the runner wears a timing chip.

This years race provided water, poweraide, finishers t-shirts, bannanas and bread to finishers as they were going in the new ramp chutes. Busses are avaliable for all finishers to Waikiki or downtown Honolulu after the race. The race organizers do a tremendiously great job to make sure this is a fun and safe event for all participants. The Marine Core Jazz Band was playing music for over an hour while the crowds relaxed in the Aloha Stadium.
